Ramco expands in the north

NorSea Polarbase • Hammerfest

With renewed trust from Equinor, the Florø-based company Ramco is investing and expanding its operations in Hammerfest. “We are establishing a new department at Polarbase in Hammerfest and have hired two new employees this autumn. This decision is driven by long-term contracts and increased activity in the Barents Sea,” explains Managing Director Arild Moe. “We are strengthening our position in a strategic area,” he emphasises.

The new contract with Equinor – which guarantees us work for the next five years, with an option for an additional four years – was signed in April. Since then, we have reached an agreement with NorSea Polarbase to establish a new production facility there. Previously, we did not have permanent personnel in Hammerfest, but with the increased activity in the Barents Sea, it is strategically important for us to establish a presence there.

New Employees in Hammerfest
In Hammerfest, we have been awarded 100% of the volume of oil and gas pipes from Polarbase to Equinor’s activities in the Barents Sea. Therefore, this is the right time to invest in the north and bring in local expertise. We are expanding our team and have already hired two people to operate the facility at Polarbase. Christian Svendsen will be the Plant Manager at the new facility and will lead and coordinate the work there. In addition, Jørn Anders Büchler has been employed as an inspector.

Long-term Prospects and Growth
The long-term contracts with the oil companies ensures stability and longevity, providing us the opportunity to expand, as we are now doing in Hammerfest. It is important for us to apply the expertise we have developed over the past 30 years and to create new jobs along the Norwegian coast.

Important for both Polarbase and Ramco
Jeanette Moland states that NorSea Polarbase has previously enjoyed a strong partnership with Ramco and is very pleased that the company now has secured a long-term contract with Equinor. Such a contract means predictability for Ramco, and an opportunity to invest in the northern region.

For Polarbase, this means increased activity and additional jobs at the base for many years to come.

We extend our best wishes to Ramco and look forward to maintaining a positive and productive collaboration.
